Dental treatment produces droplets and cutting dust fine enough to be invisible. At The Reborn Dental Clinic, every treatment chair is equipped with a unit that draws this dust in the moment it leaves the mouth.
WHY
Why it has to be caught outside the mouth
Intraoral suction alone cannot capture everything released while a tooth is prepared or scaled. What remains lingers in the air of the treatment room, and the finer the particle, the deeper into the airway it can travel. That is why the dust needs to be drawn in the moment it leaves the mouth.

OUR SETUP
Every chair, without exception
If only some rooms have the equipment, the environment depends on which chair you happen to sit in. So every chair where treatment actually takes place has one.
Fitted to every treatment chair
Each treatment chair has a MegaGen Free Arm Arteo extraoral suction unit. The preliminary examination room, where only check-ups are carried out, and the surgical room, which follows its own infection-control protocol, are not included.
Ceiling-mounted
Unlike floor-standing units, it keeps walkways clear for patients and staff, and can be moved freely to wherever it is needed during treatment.
Touch-free sensor
It switches on and off when a hand is held near the sensor, so the unit does not have to be touched during treatment.
Also during lab work
Dust from adjusting temporary teeth or fitting restorations is drawn in the same way, reducing how much spreads through the room.
Mounted to the ceiling so it can be positioned wherever each chair needs it.

Extraoral suction is intended to reduce how much of the droplet and dust generated during treatment spreads through the room; it does not guarantee that infection will not occur. Alongside this equipment we follow standard infection-control procedures including instrument sterilisation and disinfection of treatment areas.
